One should count each day a separate life.
–Seneca
In his book, How to Stop Worrying & Start Living, Dale Carnegie discusses the concept of ‘Day-Tight Compartments.’
The idea comes from the watertight compartments found in naval vessels. At any point, the captain standing on the bridge can press a button and seal off various parts of the ship from one another.
What he urged us to do was apply this philosophy to our daily lives. You have ultimate control of your thoughts, your feelings.
When you start each day, press a button and have your internal machinery seal off the past and shut out the future.
Refuse to carry the baggage of your yesterdays or the weight of your tomorrows.
You focus is now.
Good luck and have a great week!
