Men spend their lives in anticipations, in determining to be vastly happy at some period when they have time. But the present time has one advantage over every other – it is our own .
—Charles Caleb Colton
If you’re like me, you’re always looking ahead.
My mind’s always on - what’s next?
I’m having coffee, I’m thinking about the day ahead.
I’m at work, I’m thinking about the week ahead.
Even on the weekends, I’m still running through an agenda of things to be done.
Dinner, movie, night out with friends….check, check, check.
Now, I’m lucky enough to love what I do. But there always seems another goal reach.
It’s hard to step back and have perspective on the fact that today is pretty darn good.
The takeaway.
Today…right now take a moment to reflect on how far you’ve come.
As you work, try to appreciate your surroundings and to recognize the value of your accomplishments.
After all, wasn’t a past goal to be at the very spot where you now find yourself?
